Some people have a special ability to communicate. They can argue clearly and have the competence to persuade people, causing them to change their minds. Influential individuals break entrenched resistances and prejudices, supported by the reason and emotional of listeners. That power is to influence people.
It's not magics or charisma, it's technical.
Of course, some are born with a certain gift, the power of words as some say, but know that you can also become an influencer of people. Science has proven in recent decades that there are techniques that can help in the development of persuasion skills. With study and training, it is possible to improve the influence exerted by exposing opinions and, mainly, convincing others to change their minds.
Professor Rodolfo Araújo (master in Business Administration from PUC-RJ, MBA in Information Technology from FGV, Bachelor of Communication from UFRJ, specializations in Social Psychology from Wesleyan University and Influence and Persuasion for Influence at Work, Robert Cialdini, and professor of negotiation courses at HSM Education and FGV) developed in the course Persuasive Communication, the Principles of Persuasion, six skills to be developed.
Within the Relationship area, the reciprocity item, where the individual provides something to have something in return, such as gifts and concessions for example; and the Affinity item, where the person shows common interests.
Within the Uncertainty area, the Compliance item where it is shown to be part of the group; and Authority, with the use of positions and highlights, bringing the will of the other to belonging to follow the expert.
And within the Action area, the consistency item, where it is important to show coherence as one life, and one speaks and commitment; and the scarcity item, showing value to the theme, rare and valuable.
The study of this technique is fundamental to understand which one fits best in what type of situation.
As we can see, communication sciences and psychology can together contribute a lot in understanding how human beings can exercise power over certain situations.
We will develop our skills and use consciously to get good results both in personal life as a professional.
